JOB TITLE:  Electronic Avionics Soldering Technician - DEFENSE

Summary:  
  Perform composite fabrication of detail parts and subassemblies using carbon fiber, fiberglass, and other lightweight materials commonly used in aerospace.  
 Setting up and operating automated lay-up machines
 Performing composite lay-up, fabrication, and assembly tasks
 Interpreting blueprints, engineering drawings, and nonconformance dispositions to fabricate pre-manufactured composite materials
 Using fabrication tooling, materials, and automated/motorized equipment
 Completing fabrication details and subassemblies via hand lay-up or NC equipment
 Selecting correct parts, materials, tools, assemblies, standards, and hardware to meet work statements and planned operations
 Reporting job constraints such as workmanship errors, defects, or procedural issues in accordance with procedures
 Preparing test articles, fixtures, and data collection devices for various tests
 Performing basic organic chemical conversion and paint preparation
 Applying routine organic coatings for corrosion protection and appearance
 Working on moderately complex articles using established drawings and requirements
 Maintaining strict safety standards, including use of safety glasses, harnesses, respirators, boot socks, and other equipment at all times
 Exhibiting exemplary housekeeping and Foreign Object Debris (FOD) control
 Keeping work area clean, organized, and FOD-free
 Coordinating pertinent information with employees on other shifts
 Working with TPS (Thermal Protection System)
 
Requirements:
  Secret clearance required to start
 High school diploma or GED
 Typically 1+ years of related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
 Mechanical skills, including experience with torque wrenches
 Electrical skills, including experience with adhesives and wire handling
 Must be a U.S. Person (as defined by ITAR).
 
Preferred Skills:
  Drilling experience
 Painting or autobody experience
 Ability to read and interpret blueprint drawings
