What is the Airbus Gateway security  team doing?

Security threats have increased drastically in the last few years and organizations are facing an increasingly complex threat landscape. As Airbus continues its digital transformation, numerous opportunities emerge along with new risks.

The primary mission of the Gateway Security Team is to review, analyze, and validate firewall flow requests for both new and existing applications, ensuring alignment with security policies and business requirements. Our team plays a critical role in safeguarding the Airbus network against cyber threats while supporting seamless and secure business operations.

Qualification & Experience:

We’re looking for passionate people, who are eager to learn, willing to share, and establishing innovative ways of working and influencing culture change.  

• Bachelor degree or Masters in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field

• 5 to 8&43; years of hands on experience in Network and Perimeter security technologies

• Strong understanding of firewall rules, network flow analysis, and policy management

• Good knowledge of Network Security fundamentals, security ports, and protocols etc.

• Past working experience in reviewing security architecture, network diagrams and security policies (knowledge on Zero Trust Architecture)

• Good knowledge on identity and access management protocols (IAM, MFA, SSO, Identity Federation etc.) 

• Experience in ensuring network security through next gen firewall, IDS/IPS, and web proxies

• Previous significant experience on AWS/Azure, Firewalls, Bastion, DLP, IAM, MFA/UFA, Encryption, MPLS/SDWAN, IDS/IPS, proxies, (…etc.)

• Experience in troubleshooting the installation and configuration of security solutions agents, applications, and packages etc.

• Basic knowledge  in scripting and automation (such as Python, Bash script etc.)

• Proven ability to priorities workload, meet deadlines and utilize time effectively

• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, works effectively as a team player

• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills

Responsibilities

• Review, analyze and validate the firewall flow requests for new and existing applications to ensure compliance with security policies and business requirements.

• Maintain accurate documentation of firewall flows, requests, and the validation processes, provide regular reporting on rule status and validation metrics.

• Engage in troubleshooting the installation and configuration of network security solutions, agents, applications and packages etc.  

• Support security incident response efforts, including supporting investigation and resolving of security incidents in a timely manner.

• Manage and enhance the security infrastructure including security applications, intrusion detection systems, secure remote access solutions, network & endpoint security.

• Ensure that security policies and standards are being followed across the teams.

• Analyze and suggest automation opportunities to streamline the analysis and validation of typical firewall flow requests.

• Conduct regular briefings to understand product upgrades, roadmap of features.

• Participate in Security threat and monitoring forums to learn and keep abreast of the latest cyber security trends, vulnerabilities, and emerging threats.

• Collaborate with other security teams in understanding their needs in maintaining and configuring security components and tools.
