YOUR ROLE
This role is responsible for accurately forecasting the demand for inflight meals and beverages across AirAsias network. The Demand Planner will analyze data, trends, and flight schedules to optimize inventory levels, maximize sales opportunities through effective product uplift, minimize waste, and support efficient catering production and logistics, aligning with AirAsias operational goals.
WHAT YOU’LL CHAMPION:Formulate and implement demand forecasting strategies to optimize inflight catering inventory and minimize food wastage for Santan.
Manage and grow efficient planning processes for Santan meal and beverage requirements , identifying opportunities for optimization.
Gather spanet intelligence and monitor passenger behavior to achieve optimal loading of Santan products based on historical meal consumption and pre-booking behavior.
Maintain a strong understanding of operational and logistical constraints impacting inflight catering and Santan meal availability.
Provide regular performance reports and business reviews on forecast accuracy, waste reduction, and inventory levels for Santan on a weekly and monthly basis.
Lead the coordination with warehouse operations and logistics to ensure efficient delivery of products.
Foster and develop strong working relationships with internal teams and external partners.
Coordinate cross-functionally to identify and execute improvements in demand planning and supply chain efficiency.
WHO YOU ARE:Diploma or Degree in any field, preferably with 3+ years of experience in demand planning, inventory management, or supply chain, ideally within the food and beverage or airline industry. Knowledge of the aviation catering environment is a significant advantage.
Proven track record in improving forecast accuracy, managing inventory efficiently, and optimizing supply chain processes.
Experience in coordinating with operational teams (e.g., production, logistics) is a plus.
Strategic thinker with strong analytical and commercial acumen focused on optimizing resources and minimizing costs.
Excellent interpersonal, communication, negotiation (with internal stakeholders), and presentation abilities (for reporting findings).
Ambitious, results-driven, and capable of working independently in a fast-paced operational environment.
Pleasant personality with a proactive attitude and ability to adapt to changing flight schedules and passenger trends.
Ability to understand complex catering operations and logistical processes and translate them into effective demand plans.
Solid grasp of inventory management principles and cost-effective supply chain initiatives.
High attention to detail and solution-oriented mindset for addressing forecasting discrepancies and operational challenges.
Strong coordination and organizational capabilities.
WHERE YOU’LL GO:Based on performance and contribution in this role, the Demand Planner can grow into a Inflight strategist role, Demand Planning Manager, or potentially roles within Supply Chain Management with a broader scope within the airlines catering divisions, playing a key role in shaping the efficiency and cost-effectiveness of Santans inflight catering operations.
