Job Description:

The Senior Business Analyst – Commercial Programs will play a critical role in supporting the Director, Afterspanet, M&A, Deal Analysis, Strategic Planning (“Director, Finance”) by providing comprehensive analysis, business case development, and strategic insights across key growth initiatives. These include fleet upgrade programs (e.g., avionics and systems upgrades), large refurbishment projects, and new aircraft programs such as the DHC-515 Firefighter.This role goes beyond financial modeling, serving as a strategic partner who develops business cases, assesses risks and opportunities, provides spanet and competitive intelligence, and ensures programs deliver on commitments.Key ResponsibilitiesBusiness Case Development & Financial AnalysisDevelop and maintain detailed business cases for upgrades, refurbishments, and new aircraft programs.Partner with cross-functional teams to gather assumptions, validate data, and assess risks.Conduct ROI assessments, cost-benefit analysis, sensitivity/scenario planning, and post-implementation reviews.Compare actual program performance against approved business cases, highlighting variances and lessons learned.Develop customer economic models to demonstrate the value proposition of De Havilland solutions.Strategic & Commercial SupportSupport the Director, Finance in evaluating commercial strategies, including pricing, contract structures, and negotiation preparation.Assist in establishing economic models to demonstrate the value proposition of De Havilland Component Solutions programs.Program Tracking & GovernanceDevelop and own dashboards/KPIs for Commercial Program initiatives, covering order intake, backlog conversion, financial results, and delivery milestones.Cross-Functional CollaborationAct as a central coordinator across Supply Chain, Engineering, Programs, Finance, and Sales to ensure aligned assumptions and data integrity.Provide independent challenge to functional inputs, ensuring robust analysis and decision-making.Maintain a repository of business cases, competitive analysis, and lessons learned for organizational knowledge sharing.Executive Communication & Leadership SupportPrepare high-quality presentations, briefing materials, and decision memos for senior leadership.Contribute to board-level and shareholder reporting for Commercial Program initiatives.Deliver clear, concise storytelling that translates complex analysis into actionable insights.Key Success MeasuresAccuracy, robustness, and clarity of business cases presented to senior leadership.Timeliness and quality of reporting on program performance vs. plan.Quality of spanet and competitive insights supporting strategic decisions.Effectiveness of cross-functional collaboration and coordination.Tangible impact on business outcomes, including improved profitability, successful program launches, and strengthened customer relationships.QualificationsBachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Engineering, or related field (MBA or professional designation such as CPA, CFA or CFM an asset or in the process of obtaining it).5+ years of experience in financial analysis, strategy, or business analysis, preferably in aerospace, manufacturing, or related sectors.Advanced skills in financial modeling, forecasting, and scenario analysis.Strong understanding of program management, cost structures, and capital investment evaluation.Demonstrated ability to synthesize spanet and competitive data into strategic insights.Excellent communication skills, with proven ability to prepare executive-ready presentations.Collaborative and proactive, with strong cross-functional influencing skills.Proficiency in Power BI, tableau, SQL, Python, VBA is a nice-to-have
