Within this Global network, MTU Maintenance Dallas provides hospital shop and on-site maintenance services.
Job Summary:
The Engine Documentation Specialist will report to the Quality Director. In this role, they will be responsible for transferring engine related information into our data system and compile the records packages of the repaired/overhauled engines for our Customers and Authorities.
Position Responsibilities:
- Assist with ensuring that maintenance and repair work meets the required standards set forth in the Repair Station Quality Manual.
- Assist in the coordination of functions of the Quality Department ensuring that all work performed complies with applicable technical data, FAA regulations and repair station procedures.
- Preparation of engine inductions by processing, checking, and preparing customer information as well as providing the data in the relevant systems.

- Creation of complete documentation for the delivery of module assemblies and engines, including the required certificates.
- Handling internal and external Customer/Authority inquiries regarding documentation or representation in the system.
- Consideration of manufacturer documents, customer requirements, as well as national and international aviation legislation.
- Checking and ensuring the complete representation of the shop visit in the IT systems, including the initiation of error corrections.
- Direct and conduct historical and AD/SB research for customer engines.
- Coordination of cross-location issues of documentation management and systems to be introduced.
- Support the development and implementation of MTU quality management in the context of external and internal requirements.
- Participate in MTU Dallas internal and external projects, working groups and committees.
- Development of detailed process key figures and indicators for evaluation and improvement of processes.
- Independent planning and execution of demand-oriented training and qualification measures.
- Perform other duties as may be directed by the Quality Director.
Required Qualifications & Experience:
- High School graduate or equivalent or possess a valid A&P license and recent aviation maintenance experience.
- 2+ years of relevant experience in aviation records management, quality assurance, and compliance.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Knowledge of Part 43, Part 121 and Part 145 regulations, FAA guidelines, and airworthiness standards.
- Demonstrated interpersonal and leadership skills in working and communicating effectively with all levels in the organization.
- Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Problem-solving mindset and a proactive, creative approach to challenges.
- Independent execution of projects in the subject area
- Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office, Web applications, and general technical data, including ESM, AMM, SB’s. SAP and ECMS experience preferred.
- Must be able to read, speak, write legibly and understand the English language.
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
