The Work
This opportunity for a Mechanical and/or Electrical Engineer is for a candidate interested in launching their career in a dynamic and innovative environment. As a member of our team, you will have the opportunity to work on exciting projects, collaborate with experienced engineers, and develop your skills in mechanical and/or electrical engineering. The position will involve working on various aspects of engineering, including design, development, testing, and integration of mechanical and/or electrical systems.

Responsibilities include close involvement with cross-functional teams; design and development of engineering solutions; troubleshooting design issues; test planning/development/execution; and contributing to the development of innovative solutions. The candidate will apply best practices throughout the product life-cycle to ensure that the engineering solution aligns with dynamic customer requirements. Baseline control and change management are critical. Frequent interaction with working group lead. Occasional travel is expected.

Specific responsibilities include:
• Contribution to the design, development, and testing of mechanical and/or electrical systems.
• Support for the evaluation and selection of components and materials.
• Assistance with test procedure development and execution.
• Participation in Integrated Product Teams, review boards, and customer reviews.
• Development of engineering documentation and reports.
• Experience with or knowledge of mechanical and/or electrical engineering principles and practices.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to manage and prioritize multiple simultaneous tasks.

Basic Qualifications:
To excel in this role, you should possess the following qualifications and attributes:
• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college in a related discipline (Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or Hardware Engineer) with 2 years of professional experience or equivalent education/experience.
• Capable of developing a mechanical and/or electrical engineering design from concept through implementation and test using COTS and custom components.
• Experience developing and evaluating thermal designs (air & liquid cooling, infrastructure, etc.).
• Author test procedures used by the Engineering team to test Hardware items.
• Familiar with basic software tools including Windows and Linux and able to utilize test software written for hardware test.
• Familiar with communications protocols such as USB, ethernet, serial and video.
• Qualified candidates must be able to obtain a DoD Secret Security Clearance. This requires U.S. Citizenship.
Desired Skills:
• Experience with selection & integration of network servers, switches, memory, power supplies, etc.
• Experience troubleshooting system, hardware, FW issues.
• Experience with Environmental Qualification Testing.
• Ability to interpret mechanical and electrical drawings.
• Experience with Thermal Design & Validation.
• System design experience.
• Defense Industry design experience.
• Self-starter.
• Ability to communicate verbally and in writing with other engineering teams, subcontractors and customers.
Security Clearance Statement: This position requires a government security clearance, you must be a US Citizen for consideration.
Clearance Level: Secret

Ability to Work Remotely: Part-time Remote Telework: The employee selected for this position will work part of their work schedule remotely and part of their work schedule at a designated Lockheed Martin facility. The specific weekly schedule will be discussed during the hiring process.
Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week
