The Quality and Process Engineering (Q&PE) organization is looking for a highly motivated Project Engineer to join and support our NDT (Non-Destructive Testing) team.

This role will provide the selected candidate with the opportunity to work with internal P&W business units, programs, suppliers and partners to track and manage priorities, continuously improve processes, and assist/manage NDT projects. As a member of the Q&PE NDT team, you will work with our Subject Matter Experts to coordinate NDT audits and certifications, coordinate and provide technical guidance, drive process improvements, and ensure business critical tasks are being captured, tracked, prioritized and managed efficiently and effectively. 

What You Will Do:

  • Capture incoming work requests and, with the assistance of Q&PE leadership, properly prioritize and manage business critical tasks through outsourcing support and internal reviews.
  • Serve as Q&PE POC and communicate with customers to ensure needs are met.
  • Work with Q&PE Level 3s and other Subject Matter Experts, as well as internal and external customers and stakeholders, to improve NDT processes.
  • Develop and implement an improved task tracking system.
  • Manage outsourcing contracts, SOWs, and performance.
  • Track and manage group metrics for Q&PE CORE initiatives and control tower.
  • Lead various projects pertaining to Mod Center capital equipment and maintain Q&PE equipment areas (Ultrasonic Tank, Million Volt X-Ray).

Qualifications You Must Have: 

  • Bachelors Degree or equivalent experience or equivalent experience and minimum 8 years prior relevant experience, or An Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 5 years experience.
  • Strong focus on organization.
  • Data analysis, tracking, and management skills.
  • SharePoint and MS Office expertise.
  • Excellent communication skills, including verbal and written, and the ability to present to all levels of management.

Qualifications We Prefer: 

  • Experience with training, personnel testing and auditing NDT systems.
  • Experience that includes familiarity with NDT.
  • Knowledge of aerospace manufacturing operations.
  • Knowledge and experience with root cause and process control tools.
  • Project Management experience with the ability to drive to successful completion.
  • Experience with continuous improvement of processes.
  • Experience with SAP and Microsoft suite.

Onsite: Employees who are working in Onsite roles will work primarily onsite. This includes all production and maintenance workers, as they are essential to the development of our engines.

Candidates will learn more about role type and current site status throughout the recruiting process. For onsite and hybrid roles, commuting to and from the assigned site is the employee’s personal responsibility.

The salary range for this role is 101,000 USD - 203,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company’s performance.

This role is a U.S.-based role. If the successful candidate resides in a U.S. territory, the appropriate pay structure and benefits will apply.
