Part-Time Contract Position
   This role is a 2 year contract with pay not to exceed 29 hours a week.
   
Join our growing Houston-based team to lead the Systems Engineering & Integration (SE&I) effort for TAMU SPIRIT, an ISS payload sponsored by Texas A&M University. You will guide requirements management, verification, and hardware/software integration for a high-visibility, complex spaceflight experiment.
   
Responsibilities:
 - Lead and document trade studies, including final reports and derived requirements 
- Manage and maintain the baseline system requirements throughout the project lifecycle 
- Ensure the design meets all requirements and is fully verifiable in collaboration with the design team 
- Oversee technical execution for procurement, manufacturing, and testing of both hardware and software 
- Develop and present ISS safety documentation to the ISS Safety Review Panel 
- Collaborate with principal investigators to integrate their experiments into the TAMU SPIRIT platform 
- Lead Verification & Validation (V&V) planning and execution 
- Manage the integration of TAMU SPIRIT with the launch vehicle 
- Present technical progress and plans to Texas A&M, NASA, and other key stakeholders 
- Support other systems engineering tasks in alignment with project success 
   
Qualifications:
 - Bachelor’s degree in Engineering from an accredited institution 
- 7+ years of systems engineering experience in spaceflight or other high-reliability, high-specification environments 
- Demonstrated experience in trade studies, requirements management, and verification planning 
- Strong analytical, organizational, and judgment skills 
- Able to work independently and as part of a dynamic team 
- U.S. Citizen or Green Card holder 
- Must pass a U.S. government background check. 
Preferred Qualifications:
 - Experience with the design, procurement, manufacturing, and test of ISS flight hardware (preferably EVA hardware) 
- Familiarity with ISS safety requirements, processes, and participation in NASA safety reviews 
- Exposure to software development and related integration processes
