Role Introduction
Reports to: Finance Business Partner – People
On top of business-as-usual support for overseas Finance teams, the Assistant Finance Business Partner provides value added support to Region Finance teams. The Assistant Finance Business Partner will also act as a business partner with GLC department, not only facilitating the regular accounting services, but also working together with BU to facilitate horizontal costs budget and forecast, operating performance, cost monitoring and decision-making.
Key Responsibilities
Financial business partnering
- Partner with the GLC teams to review horizontal legal costs across the Group and develop sophisticated budget, forecast, accrual processes to facilitate review of horizontal legal costs
- Provide insightful financial analysis on a regular basis to support management decision making, budget and forecast; and regular business performance analysis through the interpretation of results and explanation of drivers of variance
- Provide assistance to BUs in relation to cost monitoring and performance review; and coordinate preparation of Annual/Interim Business Reviews presentations
- Support corporate transactions and ensuring technical account implications are aligned with financial reporting team
- Prepare budget and regular forecasts, including the annual budget, monthly reforecasting (including P&L, Balance Sheet, Cash flow, project related budget /forecast)
- Meet with BUs to review forecast and budget numbers; and to assist with any other ad hoc budget analysis
Oversight on operations of Region Finance teams
- Support the Finance teams for designated regions, in terms of financial aspects, compliance, regulatory and internal controls matters as well as day-to-day financial related operation; and plays the Head Office advisory role for the overseas Finance teams
- Understands the overseas operations, from sales processing, banking, purchasing to local taxation, statutory requirements, business license restrictions, any country-specific matters etc.
Financial & management reporting (Head Office point of contact)
- Acts as the Head Office main contact to build and maintain relevant management reports to facilitate regions’ financial statement review
- Represents the business users and works with the technical team to create or refine reports to enhance usability and meet local regulatory requirements; and reviews monthly financial results on a global basis for management usage
Requirements
- Holder of a Bachelor Degree in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline
- Big four working experiences is preferred. Recognised CPA / Accountancy qualification is preferred
- Minimum 5 years accounting related experience gained from a recognised audit firm
- Good command of both spoken and written English and Cantonese/Chinese
- Strong skills in MS Office applications, especially in Excel
- Experience in using SAP advantageous
- Strong communication skill to all levels in the organisation and agility to work within a team environment
- Strong analytics and reporting skills in producing reports, documentation and presentations
- A quick learner with the ability to work independently and be self-motivated and attentive to detail
