Job Title: Upholstery Sewer
Job DescriptionWe are seeking an experienced Upholstery Sewer to provide refurbishing services for aircraft seating, including VIP, business, military, tactical, and vintage aircraft. This role involves recovering, rebuilding, and sewing upholstery according to specifications provided in sketches, drawings, or engineering orders. Precision and attention to detail are crucial as you will remove old upholstery, repair or replace damaged foam or padding, and install new fabric or leather covers.
Responsibilities
- Perform upholstery and refurbishing services for various types of aircraft seating.
- Recover, rebuild, pattern, and sew upholstery to specifications from sketches, drawings, or engineering orders.
- Remove old upholstery and repair or replace damaged foam or padding.
- Install new fabric or leather covers with precision and attention to detail.
- Ensure uniformity in patterns according to manufacturers specifications and industry certifications.
- Lead a team of up to 4 people in a Part 21 environment.
Essential Skills- Proficiency in sewing using industrial sewing machines.
- Experience in upholstery, particularly aircraft interiors.
- Ability to use tape measures accurately.
- Capability to refurbish and upholster with precision.
Additional Skills & Qualifications- Experience in the aviation, automotive, or marine industry.
- Ability to read and interpret sketches, drawings, or engineering orders.

Work Environment
Work within an OE manufacturer in a safety-sensitive Part 21 environment. The role is full-time, Monday to Friday, from 7 AM to 4 PM, with occasional weekend work 2-3 times per year.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Melfa, Virginia.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $28.00 - $35.00/hr.
