Pay Estimated: $18.00-$20.00/Hour
Responsible for preparing, processing, and tracking outgoing shipments by selecting appropriate carriers, packaging materials correctly, completing required documentation, and ensuring compliance with shipping procedures—including handling of classified materials.
Responsibilities:
- Process outgoing shipments in accordance with company, customer, and regulatory requirements
- Determine proper carrier selection, routing, and transportation methods
- Package products by selecting appropriate packaging, cushioning, and labeling
- Prepare and complete all required shipping documentation (e.g., bills of lading, shipping reports)
- Use internal computer systems to route, track, and process shipments
- Verify quantity, weight, and material conformance against documentation
- Post shipping charges and route merchandise to final destinations
- Coordinate shipment flow with planning, materials management, purchasing, and production
- Support continuous improvement initiatives related to shipping and material movement
- Participate in team meetings and assist with daily task prioritization
- Handle and process classified materials in compliance with security requirements
- Operate forklifts or other powered industrial vehicles and lift heavy items as required
Qualifications:
- U.S. Citizenship is required by Federal Law
- Education: High School Diploma or equivalent
- Experience: Minimum 2 years of related shipping, logistics, or material handling experience
- Certifications: Relevant shipping or material handling certifications preferred, if applicable
- Technical Knowledge & Skills:
- Shipping and logistics processes
- Carrier selection, routing, and transportation schedules
- Packaging and material verification
- Shipping documentation and bills of lading
- Computer-based shipping and tracking systems
- Specialized Experience:
- Experience handling classified materials preferred
- Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift heavy items
- Ability to operate forklifts or powered industrial vehicles
- Work Environment:
- On-site role; supports manufacturing and production operations
