Position Title: Aircraft Maintenance Mechanic
Location: Great Falls, Montana – Avmax
Overview
Avmax is seeking skilled Aircraft Maintenance Mechanics to join our team in Montana. This role is responsible for performing high-quality maintenance, repairs, and modifications on a variety of aircraft in compliance with FAA regulations, company policies, and customer requirements. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, safety-focused, and able to thrive in a fast-paced MRO environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform scheduled and unscheduled aircraft maintenance including inspections, troubleshooting, repairs, and modifications. 
- Conduct repairs on airframe structures, engines, hydraulics, landing gear, and electrical/avionics systems as required. 
- Ensure all work is completed in accordance with FAA regulations, manufacturer specifications, and company policies. 
- Document all maintenance tasks accurately in aircraft logbooks and company systems. 
- Maintain tools, equipment, and a clean, safe work environment. 
- Collaborate with quality inspectors, engineers, and other maintenance personnel to resolve technical issues. 
- Participate in AOG (Aircraft on Ground) recovery operations as needed. 
- Adhere to strict safety and compliance standards. 
Qualifications
- FAA Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) Certificate strongly preferred (or willingness to obtain). 
- Minimum of 2–5 years of hands-on aircraft maintenance experience (commercial, regional, or corporate aircraft). 
- Familiarity with maintenance manuals, wiring diagrams, and service bulletins. 
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings. 
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills. 
- Must be able to work independently and in a team environment. 
- Willingness to work varying shifts, including nights, weekends, and overtime if required. 
- Must provide your own basic set of tools. 
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. 
- Work in confined spaces and at heights. 
- Stand, bend, and kneel for extended periods.

- Competitive hourly pay (DOE) – typically $34–$40/hr for skilled mechanics, with overtime at 1.5x.
