Regulatory & Compliance Oversight

• Ensure all maintenance activities comply with 14 CFR Part 145 and applicable regulations.
• Maintain and administer the Quality Control Manual (QCM) and related procedures.
• Ensure conformity to approved technical data and manufacturer instructions.
• Act as primary liaison with the FAA on inspection and quality matters.
• Coordinate FAA surveillance, audits, and inspections.

Inspection & Airworthiness Control

• Oversee required inspections (RII, final inspections, in-process inspections).
• Ensure proper documentation of maintenance and return-to-service records.
• Review and approve airworthiness release documentation.
• Verify proper use and calibration of inspection tools and test equipment.
• Ensure segregation and control of unairworthy parts.

Quality System Management

• Administer internal audit program.
• Track corrective actions and ensure timely closure of findings.
• Monitor work order documentation for completeness and accuracy.
• Ensure training and qualifications of inspection personnel remain current.
• Maintain roster of authorized inspectors and certifying staff.

Training & Authorization

• Evaluate inspector qualifications.
• Approve and monitor training programs.
• Ensure compliance with drug and alcohol testing requirements (if applicable).
• Authority
• Authority to stop work for safety or compliance concerns.
• Authority to withhold return-to-service authorization.
