Nature & Scope of Position
Engine Technicians are able to complete tasks related to the Assembly, Disassembly, Inspection and Balancing of a gas turbine engine in accordance with the manufacturer specifications and company procedures. Preference will be given to individuals who have related work experience on the RR250, PT6A, JT15D or PW100 and PW300 Series.
Repair Technician Accountabilities
- Maintain a safe and clean working environment
- Conduct all work in accordance with company policies, quality procedures, manufactures and customer specification and industry regulation
- Complete all documents related to the work being performed
- Receive incoming gas turbine engines
- Disassemble engines as required
- Visually inspect (and detail inspect for temporary periods) engine parts
- Perform borescope inspections on engines
- Balance rotating components
- Assemble main engine, modules and all sub-assemblies
- Flow test of individual components and assemblies
- Test engines and components
- Prepare engine for dispatch
Field Service Accountabilities
- Engine troubleshooting, removal, installation, rigging and ground runs, as required.
- Responsible to adhere to the Field Service schedule.
- Communicate with local team to ensure appropriate scheduling.
- Travel will be required to perform field service work.
Qualifications
- Completion of grade 12 or equivalent with some post-secondary education required; preference will be given to individuals with education in the aerospace industry.
- FAA A&P Mechanic and/or Transport Canada AME License required.
- PW100, PT6A & JT15D shop and related airframe experience (engine removal & installation, rigging)
- Knowledgeable in Non-Destructive Testing; certification in FPI (fluorescent penetrant inspection) is preferred.
- Good written and oral communication skills.
- Familiarity and good working knowledge of Airsoft and Microsoft Office.
- Basic hand tools required.
- Training will be made available for applicants who may not meet all qualifications.
Basic Job Related Skills
- Ability to use basic hand tools.
- Ability to use and care for precision measuring and torqueing devices.
- Familiarity with quality procedures and documentation including process documentation, parts routing procedures, engineering repair instructions, detailed work instructions and non-conformance report system.
- Working knowledge of Pratt & Whitney Canada and Airframe OEM publications and work instructions including overhaul and maintenance manuals, parts catalogues and service bulletins.
Working Environment
An individual in this capacity must be aware that the position will involve:
- Must be willing to travel with limited notice for business travel.
- Must be willing to comply with company established safety regulations and dress code.
- Spending extended periods of time working at a computer, on the phone and on the shop floor.
