Job Title: Structures Technician
Job DescriptionThis role involves performing structures work on military fixed wing, corporate aircraft, and CRJs. The Sheet Metal Mechanic will engage in detailed rebuilds and structural modifications at the MRO facility, working closely with avionics technicians on complex modifications and upgrades.
Responsibilities
- Remove and install aircraft components, landing gear doors, access panels, and fairings as they relate to structure repair or modification.
- Document work performed according to appropriate manuals.
- Perform component repairs in accordance with Repair Station Certificate as required.
- Fabricate aircraft parts and ground support equipment per engineering drawings and specifications.
- Fabricate and install structural modifications on aircraft.
- Assist in conducting hidden damage inspections.
- Apply cleaning solvent and proper sealing compound according to maintenance and structural repair manuals.
- Comply with all environmental health and safety policies and procedures.
- Inspect parts including warranty inspection for warranty consideration.
Essential Skills- 2+ years performing structures work on military fixed wing, corporate aircraft, or CRJs.
- Sheet metal or composite SC tech school or equivalent experience.
- Ability to repair and fabricate sheet metal, with blueprint reading preferred.
- Basic set of hand tools.
Additional Skills & Qualifications- A&P license preferred but not required.
- Knowledge of reading and interpreting aircraft blueprints, drawings, diagrams, and manuals.
- Working knowledge of aircraft systems and manuals necessary to perform the job.
- Knowledge of maintenance manuals, parts catalog, and applicable FAA documents.
- Skill in fabrication of sheet metal and/or composite components and assemblies.
- Skill to troubleshoot and repair aircraft deficiencies and perform complex structural repairs.
- Proficiency in operating basic sheet metal support equipment.

Work Environment
Candidates will work in an indoor, clean corporate business jet repair facility. There are two hangars, one for the Challenger aircraft and the other for Globals and Lears. Professionalism, cleanliness, and safety are crucial as customers are often present with their aircraft. Mechanics work in teams of 8-10 under one lead, with approximately 10-12 leads reporting to a PM.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Windsor Locks, Connecticut.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $40.00/hr.
