For our Cargo operation at Schiphol Airport, we are looking for a proactive and enthusiastic Deputy Manager Cargo who will help us ensure a safe, efficient and high-quality cargo operation.
What will you do?As Deputy Manager Cargo, you are jointly responsible for the daily management of the cargo operation at Schiphol Airport. You support the Manager Cargo and ensure that all operational processes run smoothly, safely and according to schedule. You are highly visible on the work floor, lead supervisors and operational teams, and act quickly when operational disruptions occur.
Your responsibilities include:
- Coordinating import, export and transit processes within the cargo operation;
- Leading, coaching and developing supervisors and operational employees;
- Monitoring operational performance, safety, quality and productivity;
- Solving and escalating operational issues and disruptions;
- Ensuring optimal workforce planning and efficient use of staff and equipment;
- Ensuring compliance with safety, security and quality procedures;
- Maintaining contact with customers, airlines and internal departments;
- Analyzing operational results and initiating improvements in processes and working methods.
Your work takes place in a dynamic 24/7 airport environment where you will regularly be present in the warehouse and on the ramp.
Who are you?- You have at least an MBO level 4 working and thinking level, preferably in logistics, aviation or transport;
- You have experience in a leadership role within logistics, cargo or aviation;
- You are stress-resistant, decisive and able to set priorities in a dynamic environment;
- You have strong communication skills and know how to motivate and coach teams;
- Safety, quality and customer focus are always your top priorities;
- You are flexible and willing to work in shifts, including weekends and public holidays;
- You have a good command of both Dutch and English, spoken and written;
- You are in possession of a valid driver’s license B.
What do we offer?- A salary between €3,370.96 and €5,574.71 gross per month (based on 38 hours), depending on experience and background;
