As we continue to grow and maintain the highest standards of safety and compliance, we are seeking a highly qualified and experienced Director of Quality Control to lead and oversee our quality assurance programs in accordance with FAR Part 121.

Position Summary:

The Director of Quality Control is responsible for the oversight and execution of Seaborne Airlines’ Quality Control System, ensuring full compliance with FAA regulations, company policies, and manufacturer maintenance programs. This position plays a vital leadership role in maintaining the safety and airworthiness of our De Havilland Twin Otter (DHC6-300)aircraft and operations under FAR 121.65 and 121.67.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the airline&39;s inspection, quality control, and records programs per FAR 121.65.
  • Ensure that inspections, tests, and procedures are performed accurately and documented appropriately.
  • Maintain detailed oversight of the airline’s continuous airworthiness and conformity with the General Maintenance Manual (GMM).
  • Supervise and evaluate the performance of Quality Control Inspectors and Records personnel.
  • Approve, implement, and audit quality control procedures and inspection standards.
  • Maintain accurate and complete aircraft and component maintenance records.
  • Ensure that all tools, equipment, and test apparatus used for maintenance and inspections are properly calibrated and maintained.
  • Interface with the FAA, OEMs, vendors, and internal departments during inspections, audits, and investigations.
  • Coordinate with the Director of Maintenance and other relevant leaders to initiate corrective actions and continuous improvement measures.
  • Conduct internal and external audits to ensure regulatory compliance.
  • Participate in Safety Management System (SMS) activities and reporting.

Qualifications:

  • Must meet the qualifications outlined in FAR 121.65 and 121.67.
  • Current FAA Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) Certificate.
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a maintenance or quality control supervisory position under FAR Part 121.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of aircraft maintenance programs, quality systems, and regulatory compliance.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Experience with internal/external audits, root cause analysis, and corrective/preventative action systems.
  • Proficiency in maintenance tracking systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Must be able to work and reside in the United States or U.S. territories; relocation to San Juan, PR or United States Virgin Islands is preferred.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor&39;s degree in Aviation Maintenance Management, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Experience with De Havilland DHC6-300 Seaplane or regional turboprop aircraft.
  • Previous experience interfacing directly with the FAA.
