The opportunity
This hands-on role is ideal for an experienced risk management specialist who is passionate about implementing effective risk management practices and eager to lead the maturation of BDAs enterprise risk management framework, including fostering a risk-aware culture within the business.
Suitable for an experienced professional, this role requires someone who can take a pragmatic approach in delivering successful outcomes in a complex matrix organisation within a highly technical and regulated industry. The successful individual will be required to navigate the application of multiple embedded risk management methodologies to create clarity and simplicity for system users and BDAs leaders.
The position will report to the Manager - Assurance, Risk, and Compliance (ARC) within the BDA Operations function. The role is ideally based in BDAs Brisbane head office, however alternative locations and remote work options will be considered for the ideal candidate.
Responsibilities:
- Refine and develop an Enterprise Risk Management Framework that meets customer and Enterprise requirements and accommodates challenges related to legacy approaches, enabling effective risk management throughout the organisation
- Lead the maturation of existing risk management processes and controls in alignment with an integrated and comprehensive enterprise risk management framework
- Ensure adherence to Boeings risk management processes and promote a clear understanding of risk roles and accountabilities within BDA
- Monitor and provide accurate and timely risk management reports, including Principal Risks, key risk indicators and risk trends, appropriate for BDA executives and senior management
- Facilitate and make recommendations on mitigation strategies for BDAs Principal Risks in consultation with risk owners and key stakeholders
- Conduct comprehensive risk assessments, develop and implement risk management policies, procedures, and frameworks
- Provide coaching and support to employees on risk management principles and practices
- Support the strategic direction of Assurance, Risk and Compliance and Enterprise Risk Management initiatives
The successful candidate will:
- Hold a tertiary qualification in Business, Risk Management, or a related field and 5+ years related work experience, OR an equivalent combination of education and experience in a risk management lead/specialist role within a commercial and/or aviation organisation
- Strong understanding of risk management frameworks and methodologies (e.g. ISO 31000)
- Demonstrated experience in the design, documentation and management of risk and controls frameworks in complex organisations
- Strong key stakeholder management and collaboration skills with the ability to achieve successful and integrated outcomes across functional areas, programs and business units
- Apply systems thinking to align multiple risk management methodologies and harmonise BDAs risk data
- Demonstrate strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to interpret and communicate complex concepts in a rudimentary manner
- Eligible to obtain and maintain a Defence Security clearance and be cleared for International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR)
