ABOUT THE ROLE & TEAMCorporate Control ensures the financial compliance of the SITA Group all over the world. The group accounting is managed centrally from Prague and Delhi while the compliance with the local Gaap is currently outsourced to local service providers. To reinternalize our finance compliance in Ohada Countries we are looking for a Manager Accounting and Tax.
SITA is a Group with a very large footprint. We have branches in all countries of the world and need to ensure a presence locally. For this reason, we foresee two employees with similar profile located in two different Ohada countries to cover the financial compliance of all our Ohada branches. This will ensure that you can serve as back-up for each other in case of holiday for example.
The role ensures the overall integrity of the processes and sub ledgers for the respective region. The role may include managing some administrative tasks relating to areas beyond finance which require management as they impact the finance function,(e,g payroll, support the business in communication with customers and suppliers).
The candidate will also play the role of legal representative for designated local branches.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES1. Prepare transfer to our Corporate Accounting System:
- Take over activities currently performed by our service provider
- Maintain accounting records in accounting system used locally
2. Transfer of local accounts to Corporate System Oracle:
- Review the existing reconciliation, identify sources of discrepancies
- Work with central accounting team to adjust the corporate accounting in such a way that it complies with the local gaap (local language translation, FX issues, tax issuesβ¦)
- Work with IT to create the necessary accounts, ledgers, translation tools β¦
- Organize the transfer of local accounting software to Oracle
3. Quality Assurance
- Develop your understanding of SITA activities, transfer pricing model and invoicing process
- Design and implement internal control to ensure the local accounting comply with the local gaap and regulations for the different countries under your responsibilities (Ohada)
- Daily review of accounting records and ask for corrections where needed
- Review and correct translation in local language
4. Financial & Tax compliance:
- Complete month-end, quarter-end, and year-end reporting for branches and companies in scope, including but not limited to:
- Statutory financial statements (balance sheet, profit & loss statement, notes including the reports submitted to the statistic authorities)
- Quarterly corporate income tax returns
- Quarterly value-added and whithholding tax returns
- Ensure all reporting is accurate and processes are completed by the stipulated deadlines
- Collect incoming financial documents from suppliers and preparation of outgoing financial documents for the Ohada customers
- Daily processing of messages/letters from customers and suppliers and preparation of draft replies
- Prepare information required for external audit and internal audit as directed
- Ensure the information provided complies with group/ local accounting policies and procedures, internal control guidelines and Business Processes
- Coordinate and/or follow the process improvements activities
5. Local Representative:
The role of the Legal Representative encompasses:
- Ensuring the transmission of any documentation received on behalf of SITA to the assigned contact within SITA. The documentation may pertain to compliance with SITA activities, registrations, business licenses, telecom or AirCom authorizations/licenses, internal rules in line with local requirements, or correspondence from any local authority.
- Taking all necessary actions, in collaboration with SITAs Legal, Finance and Regulatory departments, to file and register with the appropriate authorities or banks any documents required for SITAs compliance in the country.
Qualifications
EXPERIENCE- 6 to 8 years of work experience in an accounting and tax compliance
- Prior experience in change management and experience in implementing financial systems is desirable
KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS
- Excellent knowledge of Ohada accounting rules and Tax compliance requirements
- Full professional proficiency in French and English

EDUCATION & QUALIFICATIONS- University Degree in Accounting and Finance
- Professional accounting qualification (e.g. Certified Public Accountant, Association of Chartered Accountants, Association of Chartered Certified Accountants, Chartered Institute of Management Accountants)
