Part-Time Contract Position
   This role is a 2 year contract with pay not to exceed 29 hours a week.
   
As a project manager, you will lead end-to-end development of high-reliability space hardware systems, from concept to on-orbit delivery, ensuring technical excellence and mission alignment.
   
Responsibilities:
 - Lead complex, multi-disciplinary space hardware projects involving mechanical, electrical, software, and systems engineering disciplines 
- Develop and execute tailored hardware development plans aligned with lifecycle processes and mission requirements 
- Coordinate project schedules, milestones, budgets, and deliverables across internal teams, customers, and suppliers 
- Oversee technical execution, setting direction for engineering teams and leading major design lifecycle reviews 
- Provide accurate cost estimation, budget tracking, and financial reporting to leadership and stakeholders 
- Ensure hardware designs meet space application constraints: size, weight, power, and cost (SWaP-C) 
- Manage procurement, manufacturing, integration, and test activities to meet project quality and timeline goals 
- Communicate project status, risks, and technical decisions with clarity and transparency to internal and external stakeholders 
- Identify and mitigate technical, programmatic, and operational risks, tracking resolution to closure 
- Present designs and technical rationale to design review boards and safety boards 
- Foster a collaborative team environment through mentorship and technical leadership 
- Champion continuous improvement by incorporating lessons learned into future program execution 
- Ensure overall program execution, customer satisfaction, and delivery performance 
- Support other duties aligned with successful project delivery 
   
Qualifications:
 - Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Aerospace, or Systems) from a U.S.-accredited institution 
- 5+ years of experience managing engineering projects involving complex systems 
- Proven track record of delivering cross-functional projects on schedule and within budget 
- U.S. citizen or lawful permanent resident (Green Card) 
- Must pass a U.S. government background check 
Preferred Qualifications:
 - Master’s degree in Engineering or MBA from a U.S.-accredited institution 
- Experience managing hardware development for space, high-vibration, or thermal-extreme environments 
- Familiarity with NASA, MIL-STD, or other spaceflight industry standards 
- Experience with space payload development for ISS, lunar missions, or commercial space stations
