Job Summary
We’re looking for an experienced and innovative person to lead the strategy, design, development, and implementation of our training framework across Australia. This role is critical in shaping our learning culture, enhancing employee performance, and ensuring our training programs align with Swissport’s global objectives and client requirements.
Reporting to the COO, you’ll develop the local training strategy, manage a team of training specialists, and deliver engaging programs that drive operational excellence.
Your activities
- Develop and implement the local country learning and development strategy aligned with business objectives.
- Lead and manage a team of training designers, specialists, and front-line trainers.
- Design and deliver innovative training programs that address operational needs and enhance employee performance.
- Create high-quality training materials, manuals, and resources to support learning initiatives.
- Conduct needs assessments to identify skill gaps and recommend targeted solutions.
- Manage training budgets and ensure cost-effective delivery of programs.
- Facilitate workshops and sessions for employees at all levels to drive engagement and capability.
- Support career development and succession planning initiatives across the organization.
- Collect and analyze feedback to continuously improve training outcomes and effectiveness.
- Provide training expertise during new client onboarding and support start-up operations across all Australian stations.
- Partner with the commercial team during RFP processes to advise on training requirements.
- Engage with global technical and non-technical training teams, including leadership development (requires occasional out-of-hours meetings).
- Collaborate on global projects such as training enhancement initiatives and Dayforce migration.
- Maintain training compliance across the network and address internal/external audit findings.
- Oversee training structure across all Swissport Australia business lines: Ground Handling, Cargo, Lounges, Transport Services, Cleaning, and Support Functions.
- Manage training administration and ensure team is maintaining compliance requirements
- Domestic travel frequently and occasional international travel required.
Your profile
- Bachelor’s degree in Education, HR, Business Administration, or related field.
- Diploma in Training and Assessment (desirable).
- Minimum 6 years in training and development, including 2+ years in a managerial role.
- Strong experience in designing training frameworks and curriculums.
- Knowledge of adult learning principles and training best practices.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and project management skills.
- Proven ability to design and deliver engaging training programs
