What You Will Do:

Pratt & Whitney has an immediate opening for a Senior Engineering Manager to join the Engine Diagnostics Prognostics Health Management (DPHM) Team at the Engineering headquarters in East Hartford, CT. We are seeking an energetic, technical, team-oriented individual to be responsible for a group of engineers providing the vision, strategy and implementation of PHM functions on advanced military engines. This work is the basis for meeting government contract requirements for Condition Based Inspection (CBI) and Condition Based Maintenance+ (CBM+).

The team uses agile methodology. This position requires good management skills to get the highest value from every employee while maintaining a high level of technical ability.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Meet program and schedule commitments for Component Integrated Product Team
  • PHM system and sub-system requirement decomposition, validation, and verification
  • Support development, validation, and verification of on-board software for PHM functions
  • Advance new technologies for sensors and algorithms for PHM/CBM
  • Develop Algorithms to enable Condition Based Inspection (CBI)
  • Mentoring early career engineers in the area of systems engineering

Qualifications You Must Have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM)
  • 10 years of engineering experience with a Bachelor’s degree or 7 with an advanced degree
  • 5 years experience in engine systems analysis or analytics development using Python
  • U.S. government issued security clearance is required
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance

Qualifications We Prefer:

  • Strong foundation in systems engineering principles
  • Knowledge of and exposure to aerospace control and diagnostic systems
  • Experience in gas turbine engine subsystems and their architecture, performance, and analysis
  • Proficiency in requirements management tools such as DOORs
  • Proficiency in MBSE methodology and tools such as CAMEO
  • Experience in coordinating with multiple organizations and operating in cross-functional IPTs
  • Experience with Agile methodologies and tools such as JIRA
  • Basic familiarity with Failure Modes, Effects, and Criticality Analysis (FMECA)
  • Strong ability to effectively communicate, lead, influence and coordinate across teams in strategic projects and initiatives
  • Familiarity with modern data analysis, signal processing and AI/ML
  • Experience in programing tools/languages such as MATLAB, Python, C, and Simulink,
  • Proficiency with Microsoft O365 toolset

Controls & Diagnostics Systems (CDS)

This role is:

Onsite: Employees who are working in Onsite roles will work primarily onsite. This includes all production and maintenance workers, as they are essential to the development of our engines.

Candidates will learn more about role type and current site status throughout the recruiting process. For onsite and hybrid roles, commuting to and from the assigned site is the employee’s personal responsibility.

The salary range for this role is 124,000 USD - 250,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
