Subcontract Project Manager
500 - 650 per day Umbrella
Morson are currently recruiting for a Project Manager to create and maintain subcontract relationships for one of our distinguished defence clients. You will be responsible for subcontract sourcing, proposal evaluation, negotiation, award, execution, administration, and closeout phases. We require an experienced Subcontract management specialist with experience of leading a relationship development project in the engineering industry. You will need experience of monitoring and managing schedule, cost, technical and quality performance of suppliers in support of Programs.
The role is being offered on an initial 6-month contract basis, with the potential of a permanent opportunity beyond that. It is based in Greenford with a minimum expectation of 3 days a week onsite and flexible working hours. We have been given a range of pay from 500 - 650 per day Umbrella Inside IR35.
Responsibilities
- Interface with supplier leadership teams drive excellence in performance of contractual requirements
- Responsible for subcontract sourcing, proposal evaluation, negotiation, award, execution, administration, and closeout phases
- Assesses supplier performance and regularly communicates feedback to Supplier Leadership
- Manages supplier performance throughout the subcontracting lifecycle
- Cultivates and maintains strong working relationships with suppliers, customers, and internal stakeholders
- Utilizes process tools such as Lean Six Sigma with suppliers to drive quality, efficiency, and continuous improvement
Requirements
- Experience managing subcontractors
- Created processes to manage subcontract deliverables
- External stakeholder management experience, to hold suppliers to account
- Experience supporting or leading engineering projects
- Strong commercial acumen
- Managed projects of values above 5 million
- Maritime or Defence experience is desirable
