As a CNC Machinist here at Honeywell, you will play a crucial role in our Aerospace (AERO) business unit. You will be responsible for operating and maintaining CNC machines to produce precision parts for aerospace applications. Your expertise in machining and attention to detail will contribute to the success of our manufacturing operations
In this role, you will impact the quality and efficiency of our manufacturing processes, ensuring that our aerospace products meet the highest standards of precision and performance.
Responsibilities
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Set up, operate, and maintain CNC, ASM, and Chucker machines while performing quality checks to ensure compliance with production standards and perform tasks such as boring, reaming, turning, milling, drilling, and tapping
- Monitor machine performance and make necessary adjustments to ensure quality and efficiency
- Inspect finished parts to ensure they meet quality standards
- Collaborates with Engineering personnel to support prototype development, trial processes, and production of parts from prints or engineering sketches—with or without detailed layouts.
- Conducts quality inspections on production, trial, and experimental parts using standard and specialized measuring tools to ensure compliance with specifications.
- May be responsible for training and mentoring other machine operators.
Qualifications
YOU MUST HAVE
- 2+ years of experience with setting up & operating CNC equipment
- In lieu of 2 years of set-up & operation experience, an associates machining technology degree is acceptable.
- Computer skills that demonstrate the ability to use CNC interfaces to read, run and edit computer-based machine job programs
- An ability to work overtime as needed
WE VALUE
- Satisfactory Completion of geometric tolerancing ACE course or equivalent.
- 40 hours of CNC training and 6 months evaluation period or 1800 hours of vocational machinist training or equivalent outside machine shop experience with a 60 Day Review and 6 months evaluation period
- Experience in aerospace manufacturing
- Familiarity with CAD/CAM software
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
Due to compliance with U.S. export control laws and regulations, candidate must be a U.S. citizen, U.S. permanent resident, or have asylum or refugee status in the U.S.
Pay: This position pays $32.55/hr, plus any applicable shift differential
