Due to a major system upgrade, Raytheon Australia is seeking an experienced Instructional Systems Designer to join its Integrated Logistics Support Team embedded within the Australian Defence Air Traffic Systems (ADATS) Capability Assurance Program. This program ensures continued effective military and civilian air traffic control operations into the future, by implementing next-generation system upgrades.
The role
As the Instructional Systems Designer, you’ll undertake training analysis, design and development activities to support the introduction of major changes to the mission system, and provide a blended learning solution for RAAF operators and maintainers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct needs analysis to identify operator and maintainer performance gaps;
- Design training courses that are modularised and comply with the Systems Approach to Defence Learning (SADL);
- Develop training artefacts for operators and maintainers, including eLearning courseware;
- Provide inputs to the ASDEFCON System Reviews, ensuring training requirements are met;
- Engage with our customer, end users, sub-contractors and internal program staff as needed to support training requirements;
- Support the conduct of training for operators and maintainers;
- Provide ongoing maintenance of training documentation throughout the system lifecycle, ensuring continued effectiveness into the future;
Skills, Experience and Qualifications
Essential qualities were seeking:
- Experience with the Systems Approach to Defence Learning, including the ADDIE framework and the associated templates used within;
- Experience with analysing technical source data to determine training needs;
- Background in technical, engineering or Defence environments;
- Strong communication skills and confident in presenting technical content;
Desirable attributes:
- Experience in defence technology or military aviation environments;
- Knowledge of air traffic control systems or aviation operations;
- Previous experience developing eLearning courseware;
